Academy of Osseointegration presents its new leadership

NEW YORK, N.Y., USA: Russell D. Nishimura, DDS, a prosthodontist from Westlake Village, Calif., and professor emeritus at UCLA School of Dentistry, was appointed president of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) at the organization’s annual business meeting, held March 14 in San Francisco. He succeeds former AO President Joseph E. Gian-Grasso, DMD, a periodontist from Philadelphia.

AAPD: Putting children first

SEATTLE, Wash., USA: Paul Casamassimo, DDS, the director of the AAPD’s Health Policy Center, succinctly sums up the unique way AAPD serves its membership: It puts them second. “Much of what our organization has accomplished has happened because we’re fine with putting children ahead of our own profession,” Casamassimo said Friday during a break from visiting with members in the AAPD Bookstore in the exhibit hall.
