Adults are seeking orthodontic treatment in record numbers

It’s never too late for a healthy, beautiful smile. A new study shows that adults are seeking orthodontic treatment in record numbers. From 2012 to 2014, adults seeking treatment from orthodontists in the United States and Canada increased 16 percent, resulting in a record high of 1,441,000 patients ages 18 and older, according to the American Association of Orthodontists’ “Economics of Orthodontics” survey of 2014.

Sonendo receives FDA clearance for next generation of GentleWave

Sonendo announced recently that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the next generation of its GentleWave System. According to the company, this clearance provides the endodontist with the choice of using the default treatment cycles or reducing the treatment cycles as desired based on their evaluation of a tooth for root canal treatment using the GentleWave System.
